● Car Air Conditioner: The compressor is the device that makes the automobile refrigerant from a gaseous state to a liquid state, which allows the liquid evaporator to condense and freeze.

● Air Suspension: Compressor is used to provide compressed air through the air suspension system, the compressed air output is sent to the shock absorber and spring chamber, thus changing the height of the vehicle and changing it to soften the suspension for better safety and comfort.

● Pneumatic Brake:Drive forward the pump, making it possible to manipulate the braking and clutch control.

 

Session 2:Green Car Power Battery Manufacturing 

● Fuel Cell: The fuel cell is composed of the fuel cell stack, air circulation system, hydrogen supply and water management system. In the air circulation system, the gaseous compressor is a key component in the core structure of the fuel cell. The cost proportion only belongs to the electrostatics in its entirety.Compressors are used to increase the pressure of air. This improves the density of air, resulting in higher fuel cell stack efficiency and improved system performance.

How to Choose Air Compressor for Green Car

Session 1:Selection of on-board air compressors for green car

On the market today, most of the green car use a slide valve, piston and rotary valve, as well as a small amount of oil-free turbo. These problems exist:

● Green Car rely on air compressor systems that use grease or oil lubrication to provide pressurized air to the braking system. The grease or oil leakage exposes the piping to combustible materials – increasing the risk of fire. If this happens mid-operation, it can lead to an electrical issue with the motor and cause a failure while it is running. This could cause a power outage or human error when applying brakes, which can lead to injury or death.

● Since the traditional lubrication oil compressor has a protection level of IP56 (can not effectively prevent water and dust) in the humid environment of rain or high temperature environment (or cold environment), the air compressed in it, the water contained in air and the inner lubricant to produce emulsion phenomenon, causing compressor failure.

● Traditional truck-mounted air compressors are still common for their poor performances in terms of emulsification, oil leakage, fire hazards and high energy consumption. On average, they burn more than 50% of their power supply to avoid overloading, which leads to higher maintenance costs with an annual spend of more than $1200.

Session 2:Manufacturing Fuel Cell Air Compressor Selection

The fuel cell system itself has strict requirements for temperature, humidity and pressure. The compressor that is matched to the characteristics of the fuel cell system plays an important role in its operation.

Water lubricated compressors are a specialized type of compressor that can meet the high standards required in green car  industry. These compressors have a large discharge volume and high discharge pressure, with some models capable of reaching pressures up to 17 bars in a single stage. They are also highly efficient and produce low levels of noise. Additionally, these compressors have a long service life and are equipped with automatic water change and system cleaning functions to reduce maintenance costs. The PLC intelligent control system allows for 24-hour remote control, ensuring continuous and stable operation over long periods of time. The U.S.-based company is a leading provider of lithium ion battery anode and cell manufacturing equipment, packaging, and integrated systems. 

After several round of negotiations with other manufacturers and assessing the cost savings potential at their site, the company finally choose Nanxiang as its partner. Nanxiang customized an NXGV-55HS air compressor for their application based on the company’s requirement.  This machine can be run at 55kW peak load with an oil free armature designed for low noise reliability. Compared to its previous model which was a conventional induction type 0.1204kWh/Nm3 with 75kW capacity, it improved 35% in energy efficiency and resulted in lower operating costs for this customer.

 

After negotiations with Nanxiang’s technical sales experts, two NXGV air compressors were purchased by the company.
