What is the Unloading Valve?

Unloading valves are used to take the pressure off the system during start-up and shutdown. They deliver high flow rates, which can be controlled remotely by pneumatic or electrical actuators. The valve has two modes of operation: Manual and automatic, with a range of applications that include air compressors, blowers, refrigeration systems, pressure vessels (bulk storage equipment) as well as tanks used for storage of flammable liquids or gases.

Disassembly process of unloading valve

The unloading valve is disassembled with a hex wrench and the removal of the adjuster screw, spring, taper valve and disassembly of each plug of the unloading valve, the separation of the first-inlet valve bolts from the inlet valve, take out the spring and slide plate, remove each part and arrange them neatly after disassembling work is done

Principle of manual pressure relief of unloading valve

The manual pressure relief valve is similar to the automatic pressure relief valve, but it uses a hand wheel with a screw instead of an electric motor to release the pressure. The principle of the manual pressure relief valve is: through counterclockwise rotation of the hand wheel → P2, when the screw moves forward → acts on the cone valve, reducing its spring force, blocking oil discharge from surface body hole→ oil pressure below P1 → valve cover open by pressure→ oil discharged from cylinder and returned to surface body hole→ corresponding valves are closed rapidly.
