What maintenance does an oxygen generator require?
An oxygen generator requires relatively low maintenance compared to other industrial equipment. Key tasks for the oxygen generator include replacing inlet air filters every 1,000–2,000 hours, checking pneumatic valves for wear, and verifying oxygen purity with a calibrated analyzer. The zeolite media inside the oxygen generator typically lasts 10–15 years before replacement is needed.
Can an oxygen generator be used for medical oxygen supply?
Yes, a medical-grade oxygen generator can supply oxygen for respiratory therapy in hospitals and clinics. What is the difference between a PSA oxygen generator and a cryogenic oxygen plant?
A PSA oxygen generator produces oxygen on-demand in smaller volumes (up to a few hundred cubic meters per hour) using pressure swing adsorption technology. In contrast, a cryogenic plant produces very high-purity oxygen (99.5%+) in large volumes but requires significant capital investment and continuous operation. The PSA oxygen generator is more energy-efficient for smaller facilities, while cryogenic plants are better suited for large-scale industrial gas production.
