Everything You Need to Know About Starting an Air Compressor

Starting an air compressor can seem daunting, but with the right knowledge, you’ll find it a breeze. Read on to learn everything you need to know!

Check work before starting

● Check the electrical circuit is normal and look at the oil level is within normal range;

● If you find no oil or use different brands of air blower oil, so it will not cause rust or oil deteriorates with the phenomenon of welding;

● The belt and direct-drive machines can manually rotate a little bit of main motor to see whether it can rotate;

● Open the air chuck outlet valve, ensure that coolant tank ventilation through a safe channel;

● Check the oil cup, coolant tank and filter is there moisture need to drain out?

● On power supply, verify three phase voltage is within normal range.

Start method

 First, turn on the compressor’s control panel; Then press the start button and operate for about 3~5 seconds and then press the stop button after a pause. Repeat these steps two or three times to ensure normal restart. Next, if there is rapid temperature rise accompanied by abnormal noise when starting up, there must be oil that has not been circulated through yet. It must immediately stop and start several times before using it normally again. After starting up, observe relevant data such as oil level, temperature, pressure and other parameters to make sure they are normal before using them

Precautions during operation

The equipment should be checked regularly, every hour at least once, to ensure that it is maintained in good condition. The operating temperature of the exhaust should be between 75-95 degrees centigrade. Be sure to prevent any condensation water from being frozen by cold oil and improved. Verify that all pressure gauges are normal and the oil level must be maintained between two red lines while running.

The phenomenon that it must be shut down for maintenance after starting up

In general, the problem of machine shutdown may be caused by

1) security devices automatically activated, caused outage;

2) cooling fan failure, leading to temperature increase.

3) Controller display error current overload or electrical equipment has an odor or burning phenomenon.

4) safety valve action or pressure regulator failure.

5) Engine and motor noisy and vibration sound or vibration.

6) serious oil leakage or gas leakage phenomenon.

Shutdown operation sequence

● press the “OFF” button to stop, wait 10-15 seconds after the control system automatically shuts down;

● Do not use emergency stop switch to turn off the refrigerator;

● Turn off the cold room power supply;

● cut off all power switches;

● Empty air pressure inside the refrigeration compartment reaches 0.
