FAQ

Treatment equipments are essential because raw compressed air contains moisture, oil aerosols, and solid particles that can corrode pipes, damage pneumatic tools, contaminate products, and cause system failures. Dryers remove moisture, filters remove contaminants, and air receivers stabilize pressure.

A refrigerated air dryer cools compressed air to condense and remove moisture, achieving a pressure dew point of +3°C to +10°C – suitable for general industrial use. A desiccant air dryer uses adsorbent materials to achieve much lower dew points of -40°C to -70°C, required for critical applications like pharmaceutical, electronics, or outdoor winter operations.

Heatless purge dryers use a small amount of dry compressed air (typically 15-20% of rated flow) to regenerate the desiccant – simple and reliable but higher purge loss. Externally heated dryers use an electric heater to warm the purge air, reducing purge loss to 5-7% – more energy-efficient for larger systems or continuous operation.

As a general rule, the air receiver should be sized at 5-10 liters per CFM of compressor capacity. For example, a 100 CFM compressor typically needs a 500-1,000 liter tank. A larger tank provides better pressure stability and allows the compressor to cycle less frequently, extending its life.
